On opening our service all children who arrive early will participate in an integrated age group program. This is a fantastic opportunity for siblings to spend time together and provides ability for children of varying ages to interact and learn from one another.
From 8.30am, the Kindergarten children will start their transition over to the Kinder room.
Each room has their own age appropriate planned programs and rhythms for the day.
We offer progressive morning and afternoon tea so children can keep playing and learning uninterrupted. Our lunch and late night snack is a communal sitting to enjoy as a service.
Rest/sleep times are included within your child’s day and the basic outline of the daily rhythm will include both indoor and outdoor educational programs which have been specifically developed to cater for the strengths, interests and learning opportunities for your child.
From 2.30pm, our kindergarten children will integrate back into the Long Day Care program and the service will continue their multi-age group setting until closure.
We request that each child has a bag for their personal belongings. Families need to ensure that all their children’s belongings are clearly named. To assist us in meeting all your child’s needs we ask that the following items are provided:
– A beanie and warm jacket for winter (we supply bucket hats for SunSmart weather)
– Changes of clothing for all weather conditions (enough underwear if toilet training)
– Ready made up bottles or pre measured formula and sterilised bottles (if required)
– Comforters (if required)
– Drink bottle with strictly water only
The health and safety of your child is our highest priority therefore children must not attend if they are unwell. If your child is sick not only should they be resting but they can also compromise the health and safety of the other children within our centre.
We follow the 6th Edition of Staying Healthy in childcare for exclusion periods.
Our waitlist works by taking into account the age of the child to see if our staffing/ratio capacity has vacancies to fit the families needs such as days and preferred start date.
Priority of Access Guidelines set by the Government is also taken into account. Unfortunately once our service is at full capacity, we can only rely on existing families to voluntarily change their care requirements or cease for a vacancy to be created. When a vacancy becomes available our service Director will refer to the waitlist.
Late in the year all our existing families will receive an invitation on the centre APP to request their requirements for the following year. Your family must return this forms no later than the date stipulated to secure their position for the upcoming year.
Both sessional and Long Day Kindergartens who offer a Funded program, must be lead by a qualified teacher.
In a long day care setting, there is greater flexibility with Kindergarten hours as the children can integrate into both programs.
In addition there is no need to find leave each year as your child can attend Little Tikes Early Learning during the school holidays.
Our kindergarten program operates over 600hrs per year so does not close during the term break.
The Education and Care Services National Regulations state that the minimum staff/child ratios for a licensed children’s service are:
– For every four children under the age of three, there must be a minimum of one educator.
– For every eleven children aged three and over there must be a minimum of one educator.
We staff above this ratio at Little Tikes Early Learning to provide the extra care, supervision and education your children deserve.
Our excursions/onsite learning programs are planned around the children’s development and interests and we offer extracurricular activities relating to music, language or physical activity at no extra cost. These include but are not limited to:
• Theatre plays
• Weekly dance studio sessions
• Football clinics
• Robot Reg
• Sunshine Circles Theraplay
We also participate in learning on land in our "paddock play" educational space.
